How to Prepare to take a SAFE Saliva Covid Test

In this Getting Started guide, you will find instructions for preparing to use the SAFE Saliva Covid Test Kit. You will learn what scannable codes to use within the HealthCheck app to get started, where that code is located, and what to do should you run into issues scanning and registering your SAFE Covid Test Kit.

1. Open your SAFE Covid Test Kit box and remove the kit contents.

   

2. Check your kit contents and make sure you have all of the above items.

3. Locate the scannable code on your test kit's inside flap.

   

   
   Note: This code is test-specific and is needed to register each new test kit in the HealthCheck app. Do not scan any other scannable codes.
   

4. In the HealthCheck app, tap Take A Test on the home screen.

   

5. Tap I have a Test Kit.

   

6. Tap Get a Test Credential.

   

7. On the Choose a Test screen, select the SAFE Saliva Covid Test Kit (not pictured).

   

8. On the Register Test screen, tap Scan QR Code.

   

9. You will be taken to the Scan Code page. You’re now ready to scan and register your test.

10. Once you are successful in scanning the code on your test cassette, you will be redirected to the Confirm the Test Kit page where you will see detailed information about your specific test and test kit contents.
